As with a lot of the utterly surreal, tragic, and ridiculous things that have happened in the past 5+ years in this country, it is useful to state in plain language what actually happened here: In the year 2007, a major American city was paralyzed for the better part of a day by art school kids, armed only with hacked-together Lite Brites and strong magnets. To my twisted and cynical mind, this has been about the best thing ever, for a whole bevy of overlapping reasons.
